This session is showcasing the results of a partnership between UX students and the City of Kingston during the Winter 2024 semester. Through intensive research, our students identified key issues faced by international students in six critical areas (Employment, Financial Planning, Health Care, Housing, Immigration Support and Transportation). Leveraging these findings, Design Thinking sessions were conducted at the International Student Symposium. These sessions helped generate ideas on how we can collectively improve the experiences of our international students. In this presentation we will share an overview of our methods, list what the top issues were for each category, and share what ideas were generated by a collective of students, city staff, and community partners.
