Learning Connections Conference 2024

This session explores the mutually beneficial relationship between St. Lawrence College, Boys and Girls Club (BGC) South East, and the Kingston community in providing experiential learning placement opportunities for SLC students. By partnering with BGC South East, students from various programs at St. Lawrence College engage in practical placements tailored to their fields of study. This collaboration not only enriches students' academic experiences but also benefits the community. Through this session, attendees will gain insights into the St. Lawrence College - BGC South East partnership, showcasing successful models of collaboration and highlighting the mutual benefits for students and community partners. Current program partnerships include Child & Youth Care, Early Childhood Education, Office Administration, and Social Service Worker. As BGS South East expands its program offering, we increase our program partnership offerings to include: Fitness & Health, a variety of Skilled Trades programs, Innovation programs, and Marketing & Communication. Together, we will explore opportunities for further collaboration and innovation in experiential learning, aiming to maximize the benefits for students, community partners, and the wider community.
